How to Step-by-Step
- For heavily textured or porous tiles, we recommend using the Projoint Pre-Grout Sealer prior to grouting.
- Ensure that the paving is firmly fixed, and the joints are clean, fully dry, free of dust, excess adhesive, bedding mortar or any contamination.
- Ensure the temperature is 5ºC or above with no rain forecast for at least 48 hours after application.
- For external use, allow sufficient time for the bedding mortar to fully cure before grout application.
- Apply the prepared grout to the wall or floor using a grout float or squeegee, pressing it firmly into the joints until they are fully filled.
- As you work, remove any excess grout from the surface of the tiles.
- Once the grout begins to firm up in the joints, clean off any residues with a damp sponge, ensuring the sponge is damp (not wet) and rinsed frequently in clean water.
- After the grout has fully set, any remaining haze can be wiped away with a dry, clean cloth. *at 20°C, grout on ceramic tiles will begin to firm up after roughly 20 minutes, while on porcelain tiles, it will take about 45 minutes.

How long does it take to cure?
At 20°C, projoint tilejam will be ready for light foot traffic after 3 hours. The grout will reach full strength in 24 hours, after which normal use can resume in dry areas. For showers and other wet environments, a minimum of 3 days is required before the area can be used. Outdoor installations should be shielded from frost and rain for 48 hours while the grout cures. For installations over underfloor heating systems, do not activate the heating for 10 days after grouting. Following this period, gradually increase the floor temperature to its normal operating level.
